Offenses Against the Holy Name

We have to be very attentive to avoiding any offenses to the Holy Name, which may slow our progress down or in some cases take away all the benefits that we have gained through chanting Hare Krishna.

Life In Vrindavan – Sataka 5

It is certainly not proper etiquette for a Vaisnava to advertise himself, so I feel uncomfortable posting this video of myself chanting on the original japa beads of Srila Jiva Goswami. I do so only in the mood of sharing my good fortune with others, so they too may be inspired to chant to the [...]

Purified By the Transcendental Sound

Yesterday I included a photo of this simple sadhu reading sastra in my album, ‘Winter in Vrindavan.’ Today I met him again on parikrama and said, “Baba, do you remember when I took a photo of you yesterday?” “Yes, I do.” he replied. “Well, I posted it on the internet and hundreds of people saw [...]

Vrindavan Meditations

“O tongue tortured by thirst, please mix the delicious nectar of the name of Radha with the wonderfully sweet condensed milk of the name of Krsna, add the fragrant ice of pure love and drink this charming elixir at every moment!” [ Srila Raghunatha das Goswami, Stavavali, Revelation of Desires, Text 10 ]

Woodstock! Kirtan!

3am and Madhava is still going strong. There are a few hundred kids chanting and dancing with all the devotees here in our big tent. The sun comes up soon. But the real sunshine of our lives is the holy names. Woodstock! Kirtan!

Woodstock Ratha Yatra

Just finished a 3 hour Ratha Yatra up and down and all around the Woodstock field. No doubt all the 400,000 people here saw it and heard the holy names. So many were dancing with us. Such bliss!!

The Saintly Person

“O how wonderful is the character of Sri Gaura Hari, and still more is that of His dear servitors. Throughout the world He spreads His gifts of love for Krsna as well as attraction for the saintly person, who takes pleasure in congregational chanting of the Lord’s holy names.” [ Srila Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya, Susloka-satakam, verse [...]

Glories of Aindra Prabhu

For those with a deeper vision, Aindra Prabhu spent most of his life chanting Hare Krsna in Vrindavana, serving his Deities, doing parikrama and his final act of service was to fall down in front of his Gaura-Nitai Deities.

From the Bible in My Hotel Room

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving.” [Psalm 69:30]
