Last night I attended the Sunday Feast at the Chicago temple. Once again, the bhajan I led before class went ‘over time’ and I only had 15 minutes left to lecture :) It was so nice taking darsan of the presiding deities, Sri Sri Kishore-Kishori!

The Best of All DevoteesWe had a great program at the Laguna Beach temple today. Three hundred devotees gathered from various parts of Southern California. I spoke from Caitanya Caritamrta, then we all went on harinam, and concluded with a fantastic feast. I sold over 50 copies of my new ‘Diary of a Traveling Monk’. Tomorrow – Chicago! |
Festival of the Holy NamesThis afternoon I arrived in Carpinteria, California for a two-day break. Lord knows I need it! I am staying with Giriraja Swami at his place. This coming Saturday I will attend the annual ‘Festival of the Holy Names’ at the Laguna Beach temple. Devotees come from all over Southern California for the event. It is [...] |
Solemn pactTonight in the Dallas temple myself and Giriraja Swami did initiations together. We each accepted 4 disciples. I always love doing things with Maharaja. Many years ago we made a solemn pact that neither of us would go back to Godhead without the other. Obviously, I am the one who benefits most from that agreement! [...] |
Temple of the LotusThe Temple of the Lotus near Salt Lake City was designed and built by Caru das and Vaibhavi dasi in 2001. It’s draws over 50,000 visitors a year. They also have a herd of 40 Llamas that attract alot of attention as well. |
Most Krsna Conscious momentYesterday evening at the Dallas Sunday feast program, myself, Giriraja Swami and Guru Prasad Swami took turns answering questions from an audience of 300 devotees. One devotee asked me, “What is the moment you have felt the most Krsna conscious in your life?” I laid my head lovingly on Giriraja Swami’s shoulder and said with [...] |
Simply Amazing!Tonight we did kirtan at Brigham Young University. We performed as part of a program calling attention to world hunger. As soon as we started doing bhajan every single student present – all 1,200 of them – jumped up and started chanting and dancing in bliss with us. The kirtan went on for 20 minutes. [...] |
Magnificent templeToday is my last day at our center near Salt Lake City. Caru das and Vaibhavi dasi built a magnificent temple here in 2001 that attracts 50,000 people a year. I’ve been doing all sorts of programs, including engagements with students at the temple, a home engagement and tonight a program at the local university. [...] |
Eternally gratefulI arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah. I will be visiting the local temple. Ninety-percent of the people in this area are Mormons. The last time I visited here was in 1966. I was 16 years old, hitch-hiking around America on a spiritual quest. I visited the Hopi Indians, the Quakers and the Mormons in [...] |
Quiet and SimpleI am in the airport, leaving Boise, Idaho. Boise is the state capitol but has a population of only 205,000. The city and people remind me of America in the 1950′s – quiet and simple. I got a lot of stares walking in my saffron robes, but met some of the friendliest people on earth. [...] |
